Chief Ladiga Trail

This is part of a 100 mile rail trail that runs from Anniston, Alabama to Smyrna, Georgia.

We picked the trail up in Piedmont, AL and road east to the Georgia state line. The trailhead at Piedmont is at the Eubanks Welcome Center. You can park here I a nice large lot. You can get trail and state maps inside the Welcome Center. We also picked up a couple of sorvener shirts - they also sell hats. The trail was paved the entire section that we rode with the scenery changing at every turn. It's an uphill ride leaving Piedmont and then mostly downhill heading back. We highly recommend a ride on this well done rail trail.

Good Start To The Day

After breakfast we packed up and moved to a much nicer site. I'll share some pics of the campground later. The Three Black Labs are all settled and we are off. Headed to the Eubanks Welcome Center to start our bike ride on the Chief Ladiga Rail Trail. I've loaded a bunch of caches into my GPS to find along the way. Almost to Piedmont. Gotta run.

Traveling With The Three Black Labs

First, I have to say how much I love technology!! I'm creating this blog entry away from my desk in my office - while we are driving down the road with my IPhone. Way too cool!! It's probably not cool to use the word "cool" but what the hey it's cool!

This all is probably just for my own amusement except for the few family members that might be following me.

Lex (our RV), Stella (our GPS) and the Three Black Labs are with Tom and me and we are all headed to Alabama. This will be our first time in Alabama.

Die Cut Flowers, Martha Stewart Punch, Sizzix Corner, Liquid Glass & Glitter

This is a scanned image of the Frame from a recent Workshop. If you are assembling this from home you can click on the photo and it will enlarge for a closer look.  Please feel free to call me with any questions. 

 

Some pointers: (remove the clear film from photo section while working on the frame)

1.  Pierce the yellow flower and one peach flower with a piercing tool. 

2.  One peach flower has a vellum flower, a glitter center and a clear bead.  The other peach flower has a peach punched flower center, a yellow punched flower, clear shiny tiny flower and a bead

3.  The chocolate flower is glued onto the chipboard flower with a glue stick.  The inside of the yellow flower petals are glued onto the chocolate flower and then the beaded center is glued on.

4.  What's on 3D foam squares: two glitter birds, blessed tag, all the flowers and the butterfly.

5.  All papers are glued to the frame with a glue stick and then carefully rubbed with a bone folder.

Adam Lambert American Idol, Mad World, ITune Downloads - Who Knew!!!

I have a link to ITunes on my left sidebar and didn't realize you could download videos from current American Idol Shows.  My DRV didn't tape Adam Lambert singing Mad World the other night on American Idol - I was so mad - searched all over the internet that night trying to find it out what song Adam had sung.  Finally found the Adam Lambert Mad World Video the next day - wow was it fantastic!!

Well - I clicked on my own link tonight and downloaded the video to my ITunes.  It's loading right now - as I'm typing this.  Tomorrow I'll get it on my IPhone then I can play it on the TV - it will be like I never missed it.  So Fun!!!!!  Just had to share!!  OK - I just watched it - he is REALLY GOOD!!

How To Use The Martha Stewart Edge Punch

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm playing around with adding how-to video's to my blog.  I have a long way to go but I thought I'd share my first (very unprofessional) how-to video with you.  I have lots of things to work on - completing my sentences, better camera angel, better explanation - etc. etc.

I hope you find this a little useful or at the least it gets you motivated to craft a little.

Oh my, how time does fly!!!  My oldest granddaughter, Lindsey, turned 10 last Friday.  She is such a wonderful, beautiful, intelligent young lady.  We have a very special bond.  This is the card I made for her for her birthday.  I feel it's really important to help young girls create a strength and a belief within themselves that they can achieve what they dream.  The Close To My Heart Be Happy Stamp Set had the perfect sentiment "Believe In Yourself".

To create the center of the card I stamped the sentiment from the Close To My Heart Dream Wishes Set along with the decorative outer circle onto Close To My Heart Colonial White Cardstock.  Using the Spellbinder Standard Circle Nestabilities I was able to cut a perfect circle around the stamped image.  It was like Close To My Heart and Spellbinders got together - they match up perfectly.  By the way did you know you can click in the Amazon search box on the left sidebar type in "Nestabilities Standard Circle Large" then go and you will be taken right to the page where you can purchase this set for the very low price of $16.65 - priced elsewhere for as much as $24.99.
