Monday Morning Giveaway! "You are here..."

  Had to buckle down yesterday and work on my taxes - I'm about 1/3 of the way through - we're visiting our Accountant on Friday so I must stay focused - if you know me that's quite a trick.

So I did a quick card this morning - and found these little goodies in my stash box.  I thought the "You are Here" stamp was perfect with the puffy stickers that say - zen, serene, calm etc.  The whole thing goes perfectly with the card I made today - you know what - I'll include the card with the giveaway too!

The card was made for the Try A New Technique over at Splitcoaststampers - you spray glossy cardstock with water - dribble some reinkers color on it - spary another piece with water and smoosh the two together.

After it dried I thought it would make a perfect background for this cool Stampscapes Stamp I have - very peaceful.

Don't you wish you were in that lake peacefully floating around in the boat.  You've had a great day relaxing - the sun is just starting to set - the geese are honking away as they fly off into the sunset.  Your just sitting there feeling the moment - ----- - "you are there!"

I also woke up to a fun email from a fellow stamper.  Jennifer from Glitter In My Hair gave me an Excellent Award - very cool - so sweet!!  Here's the award - isn't that fun!!  Now my job is to pass it on - but remember my earlier comment that I have to stay focused - gotta get these darn taxes done so I can be ready for Friday - I'll have to pass this little award around after tax time!

Also wanted to share some "Freezing Cold" photo's with you.  School was closed yesterday the weather was nasty on Sunday and very, very cold on Monday - I know the photo's wouldn't nearly show how frigid it was.

This is the view from the front door - off in the distance you can see our bench that always blows over in bad weather - it then gets frozen to the ground.  Sometimes it takes me a few days to turn it rightside up again.

This is not a blurry photo - it's the snow blowing!  This is later in the day from the previous photo - as the day progressed the weather became more severe.  Visibility at times was maybe 6 feet - this was Sunday - i.e. school closed on Monday!

Today is Joey's BIRTH-day!! What a fun party we had for Joey - it's been an entire year to get to today!!!  WOW!!  We can't talk about it too much because it brings little tears to your eyes  {a moment of sadness} - BUT - just check out these pics of the Birthday Boy from his party on Saturday - they'll put a smile right back on your face!!!

The Story:  The backdrop behind the deer is a photo I took while we were in Lake George, New York last summer.  While in Lake George we rode on a bike trail that follows a centuries old trail from the French and Indian War.  This trail later became a plank toll road and then became a railbed for the Delaware Hudson Railroad Electric Trolley Line and is today a beautiful bike trail. 

The photo was then changed to a Watercolor in Adobe Photoshop and printed on a textured cardstock.

Monday Morning Giveaway! "It's A Party"

I'm in the party mood!  I helped my daughter with my granddaughter Amelia's kids party on Saturday Afternoon - either I'm getting older or the kids are getting bouncy-"er"!!! Roses are red... Monday Morning Giveaway!

It's really Saturday night as I type this - giving it an all out effort to be organized.  This won't pop up on my blog until Monday morning at 7:30 - pretty neat how you can do that!!!  I had been admiring lots of cards over at Splitcoaststampers that use stamps for the "My Favorite Things" Collection - so I headed over to All That Scraps and purchased two different sets.  The card below is from one of those sets: Hearts Galore.  I thought it would make a great card for a giveaway - but what I thought I'd do differently this week is also stamp some of the images from the set for you and send the stamped images along with the card.  What do you thing - good idea?!?  You can see the set and/or purchase it over at  All That Scraps.

I've had this stamp for quite awhile - bought it on Ebay - something about it I really liked but had never used it. When I saw a Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com I thought of this stamp- our inspiration was a Menorah - the challenge can be found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...d.php?t=270758

It was the bird on the last Menorah that reminded me of my stamp, then I tired to carry out the theme of the strung beads on the wire. The branch represents the candle holders across the bottom of the Menorah and the blingy leaves represent the brightness of the Menorah.

I'm very excited that my blog has over 1000 hits - I hope those of you that are stopping by are getting a little inspiration from some of the postings.  Here's the goodies I promised - some really cool CTMH Chocolate and Bamboo Standard and Bigger Brads - 48 in all,  also a yard of CTMH Designer Ribbon  and two sheets of CTMH Vellum stickers.
