Do this with a practice piece of paper first.
1. Cut any size square from double sided designer paper - I've used the new Stampin' Up! Apple Cider paper from the 2007 Holiday Mini Catalog.
2. My square is 5-1/2 X 5-1/2
Turn it so the top has all open corners and turn the first piece of paper down to the tip of the bottom of the square. Allow a little of the underneath paper to show.
Fold down the next piece - your getting the idea now!!! And I bet you've got tons of ideas running thru your head that you want to try using this little pocket. If you make something please email it to me so I can add it to my gallery. :-)
Now, this is the last fold - how cute is this - aren't you having fun!!!!

I love this "1st Day of School" photo of Amelia and wanted it to show through the lid opening. I cut a piece of scrapbook page protector a little larger than the photo. The page protector and the photo were glued to the lid with Stampin' Up! Sticky Strip extra-tacky tape.
The is the finished inside - I've painted the bottom of the inside the sides of the inside and the inside cover.
Here you can see the matting that covers up the photo that shows through the front opening.
I added matching Stampin' Up! designer paper to the edges of the Cigar Box and embellished them with the self-adhesive die cuts that came in the Simply Scrappin' Kit.
I made the book with chipboard and a Bind-It-All that I purchased thru All That Scraps.

You need to add ribbon to the metal ring binding - otherwise the book eventually works it way off of the rings. I tie lots and lots of ribbon between the two sides of the metal loops.
As I said - lots and lots of ribbon!
Ribbons are from the $1.00 sections of Michaels and Target, Close To My Heart and
Stampin' Up!
That's it - the book fits snuggly into the Cigar Box - if your making a lumpy book don't add more pages than your box will accommodate. Also my metal rings are a little large - this was my first time ordering supplies so I wasn't sure what size to get. These rings are 1-1/4" I'll have to play around size wise.
The completed set - hope Amelia likes it! Also, hope I've inspired you to make a little gift for someone. Wouldn't this be cute for a baby shower or a grandma brag book?!?
Again, if you like the Cigar Box just let me know - I have a source.
