With summer here our RV is back on the road. Our Grandchildren have been busy too. There has been so much going on - it's been a wonderful summer and I realized I haven't been blogging much and sharing some of the fun stuff we've been doing. This is going to be a really long post - I'm going to share!!
We just got back from Hershey, PA with Lindsey and Amelia - what a fun trip. This was our first time at the Highmeadow Campground and the Hershey Park. I highly recommend it for family's. This photo is in front of the Hershey Chocolate Factory.
This is the Boardwalk at Hershey Park - get wet & wild!!
The water, waves and seagull sound effects was quite a relief from the 95 degree temperatures we were having on our trip. I recommend going on a Monday - it wasn't overly crowded.
I did sneak in a little card making. This little guy would have had the best time at the Boardwalk. He's one of the new stamps from C.C. Designs over at All That Scraps. Isn't he a cutie!!
Off To Lake Farm Park! Everyone was invited to Amelia's last day on the farm for an animal presentation and farm tour.
Had to get a photo of this young lady - she was huge - but oh so CUTE!!
There is this wonderful playground in Middlefield - great playground equipment and two fun areas for some cool water fun!!! A little time with that cutie - JOEY!!!
We've been doing lots of bike riding here in Ohio and PA.
If you haven't been down to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Peninsula your missing one of our beautiful gems here in Northeast Ohio.
The little friend on my bike seat is my Geocaching Buddy. Hummmm...Geocaching - what's that?!?
Anyway, while your biking or hiking on the trail in Peninsula make sure to stop for some roasted corn and fresh squeezed lemonade at Szalay's Market Stand - unbelievably good!!
Geocaching on the National Road in Addision, PA. (There's that word again ... geocaching!!)
You can see my friend found the cache! Pictured behind him is an original Toll House - this is from the horse and wagon days. You had to pay a toll even if you were using the road for your livestock - you paid per head!! If you refused to pay you were fined - not sure how that worked!
We camped at the Outflow Campground in Confluence, PA - directly on the Youghiogheny River. We were nestled in the bed of green mountains with the flow of the river outside our window and the faint sound of trains in the distance - beautiful spot! This is about 10 miles from Ohio Pyle State Park where lots of people go white water rafting. As luck may have it we were right on a 136 mile bike trail. This was a rail-to-trails trail which is perfect for biking or hiking. You ride down the trail with huge rocks going up the side of the mountain covered in Mountain Laurel, with an occasional spring waterfall that is safe enough to drink from. As you ride you follow the rush of the Youghiogheny River and the trains thundering by with a loud echo in your ears. Highly recommend this trip!
Recommended Dining: River's Edge Cafe, Conflunce, PA
Always time for the Zoo - Year of the Frog!!
A STAR IS BORN! What fun this was - our Granddaughter Lindsey was in Aladdin at the Geauga Theater - she was a Shining Star!!!
CHICAGO - MY FAVORITE BIG CITY!!! I'm not really a Big City Girl - but I do LOVE Chicago!! Julie, Holly, Lindsey and Amelia and I spent a few days there painting the town RED!!
Dining out at the Rain Forest Cafe...
Shopping at the American Girl Store...
Chicago is my kind of town ...
And a little time for Geocaching....what is that anyway?!?
A Virtual Trip to Germany with a 1st grader...Amelia.
A picnic in the park and a bike ride down the Maple Highlands Trail...
Happy Summer ... enjoy!
