Page 7 - December Kit

This very large label is mounted onto the Blue Vine Paper - BUT - you are doing Page 8 on the back of this page - so you need to review both page 7 and page 8 at the same time so you have a handle on what your doing here.

Page 8 was just complete with scraps - but I needed some of the Blue Vine Paper to Cover the Bird's Wing and just to have - so I did cut a section out that is covered with the Big Label on this side a a mat on the other side - sneaky!!

Basically everything on this page is extra - I did cut the Black Polka Dot Paper that was also used on the lid of the Scrapbook In A Box to mat behind Joey's photo.

The measurements:
Black Polka Dot - 5-3/4 X 7-3/4
Close To My Heart Colonial White was used as a very thin mat behind the photo - 5-1/8 X 7-1/8
Photo Size: 5 X 7

NOTE: The chipboard bird and tree came in a previous Scrapbook Club Kit. The little Heidi Swapp Ghost Clock also was in a previous kit. I think the black photo tabs were from a kit too - but my counter was such a mess when I was working it's hard to tell were everything came from other than a pile!

Okay - head over to page 8 - that was done with leftover scraps!

Page 8 - December Kit

Page 8 - December Kit

This page is the back of page 7. I just looked at what scraps I had left - laid them on the paper - moved them around - picked up a different scrap moved that around and finally ended up gluing down what you see. I guess it would be paper piecing of sorts.

Here are the measurements:
Cream Distress: 6 X 8-1/2
Light Green Tree Pattern: 2 X 8-1/2
Blue Distressed: 1/2 X 9-1/2
Green Geometric Pattern: 1-5/8 X 3-1/2 (this almost doens't show - it's under the "Delightful Tag")

The Large "J" is from our kit and sponged with Close To My Heart Chocolate Ink.

The Hearts are run thru the Cuttlebug - try just running half of the heart thru and
stamping on the other side or using two different Cuttlebug Templates.

Hope this inspires you - off to finish the January pages!!

Thanks for being part of the Scrapbook Club - I really appreciate your business!
Linda

November Scrapbook Club Kit - Blessed

In order to show off the fun designs on these papers I created the page layouts rather than using Cherish. Where Cherish is used I have mentioned the page number and title.

Click on a photo - it will enlarge - then you can print the directions and photo for that page.

What I loved about this kit:
I love the Decorator Paper in this month's kit - the colors, the flowers, the touch of glitter! Also, loved the huge 4-1/2" My Mind's Eye Rust Blossom and the fabric it was made from. I'll finish adding the K & Company "Family" Glitter Chipboard when I add my photo's - I love the dimension and the glitter on the chipboard.

My Challenges: How to use the Queen & Co. Shaped Felt Leaves. What to do with the Page Frame Designs Acrylic Picture It! Page Frame - as you can see I did manage to grab hold of my challeneges and figure them out.

Abbreviations:
Decorator Paper = DP
Cardstock = CS

First I need to mention I added some Close To My Heart Colonial White and Parchment Cardstock on some of the pages. After I cleaned everything up I found two 12 X 12 sheets of Sugar Cream Prism cardstock that came in the kit. I would have used these if they weren't buried under my pile - so please substitute the Prism Cardstock where you can.

This layout is not from Cherish.

IMPORTANT: CUT PAGE 5 BEFORE YOU DO THIS PAGE - PAGE 4 IS THE BACK OF PAGE 5!!

Prepare page 5 before page 4

Note: On page 5 you have a choice of cutting the oval for page 5 from the leftover center of the chocolate or you can cut the rectangle as shown in this sample.

The rectangle mat measures: 6-1/2 X 8

The flowers are a cut section from the My Mind's Eye Bird & Nature Transparency Accent

Page 5 - November Kit

Page 5 - November Kit

IMPORTANT: This needs to be cut carefully - the back of this page is page 4!!

Also, it's a little hard to see what your looking at as far as the layers go the scanner tends to cut some of the edges off the paper. But this page will have three layers when your done.

Extra Supplies:
Creative Memories Oval Templates and Blades
(hint: I practice on typing paper before I cut my good paper)

Measurements:
Blue (medium flower) - Bottom layer is 12 X 12

Beautiful Glittery Beige Flower DP - this is the top layer and cut to 11-3/4 X 11-3/4 - carefully choose which sides you cut - look at your paper and leave as much glitter on as you can.
Chocolate Oval Mat - approx. 5-3/8 X 7-3/8
Blue Oval Mat - approx. 5-1/8 X 7-1/8

Directions:
The two bottom layers have large squares cut out of them.
The Blue (medium flower) has a 11 X 11 square cut out - the edge is 1/2" wide - it doesn't have to be exactly 1/2" inch but it should be even all around.
The Chocolate CS has a 9-7/8 square cut out - the edge is 7/8" wide - again, doesn't need to be exact as much as even. Cut either the oval or the rectangle mat from the leftover.
The rectangle mat measures: 6-1/2 X 8

Note: If you are using the Creative Memories Oval Template I used the Blue Blade for the Chocolate and the Green Blade for the Blue. The bird transparency is attached with glue dots at are behind the black part of the bird - they don't show that way.

This page is exactly as it comes.

My plans:
Remember the clock face with all the photo's from August Scrapbook Kit - I took small photo's and made a collage for the beginning of the year. I'm going to do the same thing on this page with journaling to end the year. The clock will be the first page in my album and the calendar page will be the last page in the album.

I'll post the finished project on my blog as soon as it's done.

Altered Project - November Kit

Altered Project - November Kit

This is the photo before the ribbons.

I need to be honest here - at first site I had no clue what I was going to do with the Picture It Pageframe, but then the pressure was on to do something,

December's Kit was on it's way I needed to be ready for that. Our family had gone to Kalahari Resort for Thanksgiving and we had a nice group photo from Thanksgiving Day. My Mom has a wall of photo's at her place down south so I thought I could include the finished project with her Christmas Gifts.

I did a digital scrapped page and added my own touch with ribbons. If you know me, you know I have tons of ribbon so that was no problem. The frame really didn't take that much ribbon. I just grabbed colors that went together and complimented the photo and layout. I used a combination of Stampin' Up, Close To My Heart and $1 Ribbon.

Altered Project - November Kit

Altered Project - November Kit

Now all the ribbons have been tied on. I put enough ribbons on so you couldn't see the base ribbon that is holding the frame.

A long piece of ribbon goes thru the top ridge of the frame with enough left over to tie a top knot so it can hang from the ribbon.

What I loved about this kit:
The patterns on the Decorator Paper is so much fun - the swirls, the elves, the pumpkin-ghosts and spiders!!!! Also, loved the word sticker sheet - really added some quick embellishing to the pages. The metal embellishments from 7Gypsies were added a really fun touch to page 1 - I wish we had more!!!

My Challenges: How to add the flowers to the pages - love a challenge - really puts your mind to work.

Extra Supplies For Wooden Cube:

Beige Acrylic Paint
Tombo Mono Aqua Liquid Glue
(I have some of this on the Cash & Carry table)
Cardstock
Various Scrapbook Supplies

Directions:

I've put two thin coats of paint on the cube - it dries quickly.

Cut strong cardstock into 3-7/8 widths. You need to end up with three strips of paper. Now make creases every 3-7/8" one section will not be the same cut that section to 1".

Your piece of paper will now measure 3-7/8 X 8-1/2 it will have two sections that are
3-7/8 X 3-7/8 and one section that is 3-7/8 X 1. THIS IS FUNNY....now that I'm reading this looks like you can cut your paper on the 8-1/2 width of the 8-1/2 X 11 piece of cardstock and you'll automatically end up with the right size. Aren't you glad I have this all figured out for you?!?!

You should have three sections that look this way - glue all the sections together - this is your accordian top.

Note: I've glued my top on before I scrapped the sections - I think it will be easier to scrap all the sections then glue your top on.

The Close To My Heart Metal Foundry Frame (4 X 4) Fits perfectly on the top of the wooden cube. Glue your photo on the top of the accordian then the frame. The ribbon measures 19" BUT cut your ribbon on the long side and when your all done you can trim it up.

After you've scrapped all the sections (make sure to leave the bottom blank so you can glue it to the cube) glue your ribbon to your book bottom then cover the book bottom with the liquid glue and attach it to the top of your wooden cube.

The sides:

Each side is treated as a small 4 X 4 scrapbook page. Embellish however you'd like.

More Directions:

The White DP is edge distressed and then sponged with Chocolate Ink.
The Olive CS is torn with the SU Tearing Edge (or you can tear this by firmly holding your paper in your 12" Paper Trimmer - tear do not cut - or cut and scissors distress the edges.)
The sewing lines are in 1/4" from the edges.

Black Mat measures: 1-3/4 X 1-3/4 and is popped up with 3D Foam Squares

Build A Brad: using the SU 1/2"' punch I punched out the "The Goods" and the rat from the sticker sheet and mounted them in Build A Brads.

IMPORTANT CUTTIN DIRECTIONS:

Cutting the center from the 12 X 12 Orange Cardstock:

Place your paper in a 12" paper trimmer so the left edge of the paper is at 11" - now take the cutting blade and place it at 1" on the cutting guide - press down and cut down to the 11" mark - lift blade - turn paper 1/4 turn and repeat. You should now have a center square cut out. This piece is used on the the previous page. Use this same technique to cut the center out for Page 3. If you have questions please email me before you ruin your paper - ok? - ok!)

Misc Info: The plaid pattern was glued onto the chipboard % sign with a glue stick - smoothed out with a bone folder. Then cut around edges and smooth edges with an emory board or sandpaper. I meant to distress the edges with chocolate ink before I attached it - I think that would have looked a little better.

Left Photo Mat & Photo:
Orange 6 X 4
Blue 5-1/2 X 3-1/2
Photo 5-3/8 X 3-3/8

Note: the orange & blue matting is cut from the cards.

The letters for "Science Fair" were cut with the Sizzix but stickers or stamped letters would look great too!
